The Libra New Moon joins Neptune’s return to Pisces this week, creating an atmosphere ripe for healing, balance, and spiritual renewal. As Jupiter and Chiron clash, buried emotions may surface—yet each challenge invites clarity, cooperation, and personal growth. This powerful alignment reminds us that harmony is not found through perfection, but through conscious participation in the dance of change.

COSMIC MESSENGERS: Three comets are now visible from Earth, and two of them—Comet Lemmon (C/2025 A6) and Comet Swan (C/2025 R2)—will be at their closest proximity to our planet this week. Since ancient times, these celestial visitors have been seen as omens of important events, either fortuitous or disastrous. Because of the long, fanned tails on comets, the Chinese called them "broom stars," with the ability to sweep clean the energy of planet Earth.
Today, most astrologers see comets as being cosmic messengers that bring new information and awareness to humanity. It is intriguing, at this pivotal time in human history, that we currently have not only the three "regular" comets in view, but also interstellar object 3I/Atlas. The latter is stirring great interest—not only because it originates from somewhere beyond our solar system, but also because it has characteristics that make it more complex than "just a comet."
The question is: What information and awareness are these celestial objects bringing to humanity? And are we ready and open to receive?
LIBRA NEW MOON: A new lunar cycle begins this week; the Sun and Moon will align at 5:24 a.m. PDT on October 21, when both luminaries are at 28°21' Libra. Libra is the sign of the Counselor, the Artist, the Peacemaker, and the Mediator, but efforts to bring harmony are complicated since the New Moon activates a tension-filled Grand Cross configuration.
A Grand Cross is formed when four (or more) planets in four different signs are all in hard aspect (square or opposite) with each other. Usually, all four planets are in signs of the same modality—either cardinal, fixed, or mutable. However, what we have this week is a "disassociate" Grand Cross because one of the planets is in a different modality, even though it is still in hard aspect with the others in the configuration. Thus we have the New Moon, Jupiter, and Chiron/Eris in cardinal signs (in Libra, Cancer, and Aries, respectively), while Pluto is in a fixed sign (Aquarius). This somewhat "out of sync" Grand Cross can actually help mitigate some of the stress usually indicated by the configuration.
However, this New Moon does provide certain challenges, based on the individual aspects involved in the Grand Cross. With the lunation square Jupiter, there can be a tendency to exaggerate or to be self-righteous. With the opposition to Chiron/Eris, we are extremely aware of injustice in the world and also of the shadow side of Aries: egotism, bullying, arrogance, and ruthlessness. And, with the New Moon square Pluto, emotions are intense and there can be power struggles and revelations.
Another configuration, called a yod or "finger of god" pattern, is also part of the New Moon chart. In this case, we have the Sun and Moon quincunx Uranus and Sedna in Gemini, and also quincunx Saturn (in late Pisces) and Neptune (in early Aries). A yod manifests as discomfort and feeling out of balance. It requires that we shift to a higher perspective. To do this, we are supported by the ongoing sextile between Uranus and Neptune, which provides an opportunity for significant spiritual breakthroughs.
NEPTUNE RETURNS TO PISCES: After being in Aries since late March, Neptune regresses into Pisces this week. When a retrograde planet returns to a sign it has recently left, it means that there is unfinished business involving the previous sign that must be completed before we can move forward.
While Neptune is in Pisces (October 22 to January 26), we will be releasing old patterns of apathy, passivity, escapism, and denial. We will also be revisiting old dreams and ideals, seeing whether they are still valid and worth carrying into the future.
During these next three months, we are asked to spend more time going within and connecting with our higher self. As we listen to the voice of our soul and surrender the ego, we align more fully with our divine nature. Then, when Neptune re-enters Aries in late January, we will be ready to take action, supported by the deeper spiritual connection and awareness we have forged.
DAILY ASPECTS THIS WEEK (October 20 - 26, 2025):
Here are my brief interpretations of this week's most important aspects, day by day:
Monday
No major aspects are exact today.
Tuesday
New Moon: The Sun and Moon exactly align at 5:24 a.m. PDT today, when both luminaries are at 28°21' Libra. The Sabian symbol for this New Moon reads: "Humanity's vast and enduring effort for knowledge: A deep sense of participation in, and commitment to, social processes that seek to bring to all humans Truth and a greater Life." The keyword phrase for this New Moon is "Conscious Participation."
Mercury/Mars sesquiquadrate Ceres: There could be discomfort in family relationships today. Some may appreciate honesty and assertiveness, while forthright conversations could be intimidating for others.
Wednesday
Neptune re-enters Pisces: Neptune will be in the final degree of Pisces for about three months, from October 22 to January 26. Its influence will be especially strong when the watery planet stations direct on December 10, at 29°22' Pisces.
Sun quincunx Neptune: We may feel a bit off-balance or ungrounded as we adjust to Neptune's return to Pisces.
Sun enters Scorpio: The Sun will be in emotionally intense Scorpio from October 22 to November 21. During the month of Scorpio, we seek truth and depth, and are dissatisfied with anything superficial. There is a desire to know what is going on behind the scenes and we can tend to act instinctively rather than logically. In the shadow, a heightened need for control can manifest as jealousy, vindictiveness, manipulations, coercion, and power struggles.
Thursday
Sun quincunx Uranus/Sedna: There is a restless or nervous energy today, which can make it hard to focus. Plans may be disrupted.
Jupiter square Chiron: We are strongly aware of the wounds perpetrated by the immature masculine. Emotions are heightened, and some may react defensively or in anger. Traditional or ancestral beliefs could be challenged.
Friday
Sun square Pluto: Emotions are intensified and issues of trust arise. Some may act compulsively or dramatically. Power struggles are likely.
Mercury quincunx Chiron/Eris: Communications could be challenging as some may be confrontational or easily irritated.
Friday-Saturday
Mercury trine Jupiter, Mercury trine Saturn: As Mercury, Jupiter, and Saturn form a water Grand Trine, we may find it easier to think positively yet realistically. Intuition and empathy are strong and emotional intelligence is heightened.
Sunday
Venus sesquiquadrate Uranus/Sedna: Issues of freedom and independence may arise in relationships. Old codependent behaviors are challenged.

If Your Birthday Is This Week (October 20 - 26):
This is an important year for you, when you will be challenged to know yourself on deeper levels. You may be inspired to work with a therapist who can help with issues or experiences that are causing you to feel inadequate or powerless. As you understand and learn to love more aspects of yourself, you are freed of old patterns of self-denial or self-criticism. This focus on your personal work and healing journey, while fulfilling on many levels, also opens the door to spiritual breakthroughs. (Solar Return Sun square Jupiter, quincunx Uranus, quincunx Neptune, square Pluto, opposite Chiron, opposite Eris)
